Try pressing and holding the PC's power button for five seconds or more. On a PC that's configured to Suspend or Hibernate with a press of the power button, holding down the power button will I have a ASUS R541U stuck in sleep mode unresponsive to any input. There are two indicator lights. The Power light flashes. The Charger light does not come on at all. The stock charger measures 19.5 V. No response to keypad, Space, Escape, or Power Button. Holding the power button for over minute does nothing. No known physical damage. Asus TUF laptop keeps getting stuck in sleep mode Support I had bought an Asus TUF 15 laptop back in February; my first ever gaming laptop. The past few days, it's started doing this thing where I would close my laptop, but the fans would keep going like normal. I'd open it back up to a blank screen that would stay like that no matter what

So a good rule of thumb is to have a swap space slightly bigger than the physical memory the laptop has. So I used 1.6GB of swap for 1GB memory in the next Ubuntu release installation (I am now on Ubuntu 10.04) and I can hibernate the laptop without any issue. Another way to make it work is to use swap file and not swap partition.
